I am privileged to have been raised in a Christian family. Watching my parents stay consistent in their faith through life’s ups and downs helped me learn to seek the Lord for myself. Growing up my family moved a lot. An interesting fact about me is that I have lived in six different states: California, Texas, Georgia, Kansas, Tennessee, and Oregon. I treasure having lived in so many places because I got to see God’s hand at work across the country.

Eventually, I landed in Salem, OR where I graduated from Willamette University with a B.A. in Sociology. Then seeking a biblical education, I enrolled at Multnomah Biblical Seminary in northeast Portland. Upon wrapping up my degree I graduated with a Master of Divinity. As I continued my schoolwork, I was blessed with the opportunity to play professional indoor football. This allowed me to travel and see more of the country. I played in places like Pikeville, Kentucky; Laredo, Texas; Casper, Wyoming, and many other places. I am grateful that ministry and athletics have always run hand-in-hand in my experience. Traveling and playing sports has allowed me to hear stories from a diversity of people, which has led to numerous Christ-centered conversations and fellowships.

My wife, Lexie, and I got married in the spring of 2021. Lexie and I enjoy traveling together, trying out new places to eat, and visiting with family. We are happy to be a part of the Calvary Chapel family and look forward to all that God has in store.

I have lived most of my life in the state of Oregon and was raised by two incredible God loving parents who have been great examples of God’s devotion, patience and love in my life.

I received my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon in Journalism – Public Relations. My prayer was always “God use me to do your work.” Little did I know, straight out of college, God would call me into full time ministry serving His kingdom.

I am beyond blessed to be married to my amazing husband, Samuel Wilson, pastor of Calvary Chapel Community Church. Together we have two very active and fun children, Eli and Sadie. We not only enjoy our time together in marriage and family, but we have ministered as a team since 2009 in youth ministry, worship, and now humbled to be extending roots in the city of Beaverton as we reach people for Jesus at Calvary Chapel Community Church.

My heart’s passion is to help people find and follow Jesus so that they can personally experience redeeming salvation and the unconditional love of Jesus Christ!

I accepted Jesus when I was 5 years old at Calvary Church on the Rock in Richland, WA. Throughout my life, God has continually made clear His calling. I began serving in church when I was 15 years old; serving as a greeter, on the adult worship team, in children’s ministry and as worship leader for my high school youth group. I realized at that point, God had a calling on my life to serve Him.

Throughout college I remained involved adult worship teams, worked with worship bands within the community and served within my church’s youth ministry. After college, I began working part-time as a worship leader, a month later I met my wife Kathy. As time went on, the part-time position transitioned into a full time position as worship and youth pastor. Throughout those five years, I began to realize the magnitude of God’s calling and that He was calling me to even more.

In the fall of 2013, I sat down with Pastor Rich Jones and we began to discuss what God had put on his heart, a new church campus in Beaverton.

It was perfect timing with what God was doing in my heart. We began talking and praying about this new Calvary Chapel campus in Beaverton, OR. It was clear to Kathy and me that God was leading us to step into this wonderful opportunity.

This story, our story, is still in the making! I am excited about what is in store for Calvary Beaverton and look forward with great anticipation to the impact this ministry will make in the city of Beaverton and the greater Portland area. I also look forward to remaining a part of God’s story for years to come.

Jesus says in Matthew 28:18-20 “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

This is one of the scriptures that drive’s my life. I look forward to meeting you soon!

I accepted Jesus into my heart when I began my years in junior high. Almost instantaneously all I wanted to do was be in the church. I always found a way to serve, even if it was just helping arrange small decorative items around the church. Through my middle and high school years, I realized what it truly meant to have a relationship with the Lord. 

I had a big love for music, so soon after joining the youth group in my church I began on the youth worship team. Every time I sang I could feel the words going deeper and deeper into my soul, helping me recognize the true meaning of worship. Pastor Samuel, who at the time was the youth minister of that church, and his wife Kathy helped grow me into the woman I am today by giving me many opportunities to learn and fully accept the Lord as the King of my life. 

Shortly after they pursued their calling into the development of a new Calvary Beaverton campus, I followed and began serving wherever I could. It was at this church, during my senior year of high school that I met my, now husband, Matthew. After graduating out of the youth group there was still this pull on my heart to continue serving wherever I was needed. It was at this point that there was a need to help organize and facilitate a few events during the Christmas season. I learned so much about what it meant to be part of ministry during that season and after finishing with the last event of the year, I felt this calling on my life in an area I never thought I’d be in. I discovered many different skills and abilities in myself that I was so excited to put to use for the Lord. 

Very soon after finishing that season, I was offered a part-time position to help in an administrative role at Calvary Chapel. Through the past couple of years, I have learned so much about this gifting that the Lord has given me and have been so blessed to transition into full-time ministry. I can’t wait to see what else the Lord has in store for my life.

Though I grew up with a Christian outlook, it was not until December 2001, in a wind-swept, rain-soaked drive somewhere between Eugene and Portland northbound on I-5 that I accepted Jesus into my heart as my Lord and Savior. And that has changed everything!

I have been married over 45 years to Carol –my best friend. We have three children plus “one of the heart”. My oldest son resides in Beaverton with his family, My youngest son lives in Bend with his family, my daughter between the two boys resides in Heaven and our “one of the heart” lives in Beaverton with her daughter. We have 8 grandchildren. Educationally I have a bachelor’s in Math, a master’s of Divinity and a master’s in Counseling. Job wise I worked as a medic in the army specializing in neuropsychiatry, taught High School Math for two years, Youth Pastored for 8 years and was a pastor in a church in Beaverton for over 35 years. In my spare time I love to juggle, ride unicycles, perform illusions, collect stamps, read books, and collect Uncle Scrooge comic books. On a weekly basis I walk, ride my bike, swim, play ping pong and attend an exercise class believing my body houses the Holy Spirit and I need to take care of it. I accepted the Lord into my life while at a summer grade school camp. I love people and see myself as an encourager–helping people become all that God desires for them. I lead a 13 week class every Fall entitled “GriefShare”–helping people journey through the loss of a loved one. I oversee greeting and ushering believing that everyone who comes through the front doors of our church is sent by God. I oversee pastoral care–helping people find the coaching necessary to build relationships and work through personal challenges. I also oversee the retiree luncheon once a month.
